The drugs we use in the treatment of your pet are covered by strict legal controls and are classified as Prescription Only Medicines (POMs). These drugs have been extensively tested for their safety and performance.

Legally, a vet must use a licenced product where one is available and can only prescribe these medicines following a clinical examination. However, in some cases repeat prescriptions can be dispensed with the consent of a vet in the practice who has sufficient knowledge of the case history. In all cases, patients should be examined at least every six months. Some cases require more frequent examination to ensure that the prescribed medicine is working properly.

Alternatively, we can provide a prescription for you to obtain the medication elsewhere, but a small fee is charged for this service.

We require 24 hours notice for repeat prescriptions, to ensure that we can have them delivered to us if we do not have them in stock.
