Richard Larkin
Clinical Director
MRCVSRichard qualified from Liverpool University in 2000 and has lived and worked in Lincolnshire for the last 15 years. For the last five years Richard has been Clinical Lead in a large veterinary charity hospital and senior veterinary surgeon in a large small animal practice. Richard has a particular interest in all aspects of small animal medicine and he especially enjoys meeting clients in consults and building strong relationships based on excellent communication with clients.
Richard is married with two young children and when not ferrying around the children he loves hillwalking, golf, following horse racing and spending time with Lola his Border Terrier.

Magda Jarek-Ksiazczyk
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVS GPCert (SAM)Magda graduated from the Unversity of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Poland) in 2005. She has been with Eastfield Vets since 2010. Her special interest is in small animal medicine and diagnostic imaging (especially ultrasound). In 2013 Magda gained her General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Medicine (GPCert (SAM)). She is also a busy mum to two little cheeky monkeys Antoni and Anna. In her spare time she loves walking in mountains and reading books.

Paula Martin
Veterinary Surgeon
BVMS MRCVSPaula graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1996 and has been with Eastfield Vets since 2001. She now works part-time at the Cleethorpes branch. Her hobbies include walking with her chocolate Labrador ‘Wispa’. Paula also has two guinea-pigs and a cat, ‘Willow’.

Louise Ayre
Veterinary Surgeon
BVSc BSc MRCVSLouise qualified from Liverpool university in 1992 and first worked at the Cleethorpes surgery all those years ago, when it was a branch for one of the local mixed practices. She has worked in small animal practice for many years now, with a good number of these at a large charity hospital, and will be based at Cleethorpes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Louise enjoys meeting clients and their pets during consultations and is particularly interested in the challenges of dermatology cases and chronic pain management. She has practised acupuncture for some time and plans to offer this at Cleethorpes too.
Married with two grown-up sons, Louise enjoys walking in her spare time, especially on the beach with her greyhound cross Lottie, pictured here. Also, trying to manage a rather overgrown garden in a wildlife friendly way.

Alison Young
Practice Manager
Dip HE CVN Dip AVN (Small Animal) RVNAlison joined the practice in 1999 as a Veterinary Nurse and became Theatre Manager then Clinical Manager before taking over as Practice Manager in January 2021 after the previous Practice Manager retired. Alison gained her Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing in 2012 specialising in surgery and theatre management. She is currently studying for her Veterinary Nurse Leadership Award. Alison has one grown up son, Matty and a 2 year old grandson, Lucas. Alison has 3 cats at home Elwood (Woody), Jake and Larry who was rehomed from the Ark. Alison is pictured here with Molly, a labrador, owned by Richard, Clinical Director.

Sharon Parkinson
Deputy Practice Manager
Sharon joined the practice in 2018 following a career in the education sector. Sharon’s primary focus is the administration of the practice, including HR and payroll. In her spare time she enjoys sampling the vegetarian breakfasts on offer in the Lincolnshire area and spending time with her Sphynx rescue cats Barbara Lighthouse and Barry Island.

Karen Clark
Reception Team Leader
Karen joined the team in 2017 and works fulltime mainly at the Cleethorpes clinic as Practice Coordinator. She is married with one young son and 2 cats, Charlie & Lola. Her hobbies are catching up with family & friends and travelling as much as possible. Karen also has a penchant for cleaning at midnight, flavoured gin, flavoured tonic & a good smooth glass of red wine with the odd bar of chocolate thrown in regularly!

Serena Mackintosh
Head Nurse
RVNSerena joined the Eastfield family in 2018 and recently became senior clinic and pharmacy nurse and enjoys her new role. She is also a clinical coach to our student nurses and loves this part of her role. Serena has had a lifelong passion for animals and considers herself fortunate to be able to start her veterinary career in 2009. Serena enjoys all aspect of veterinary nursing but is particularly interested in medical nursing, nurse clinics, laboratory diagnostics and feline medicine and behaviour. Outside of work Serena loves spending time with her 2 dogs, Freya and Wilma, and her 2 cats Phil and Wesley. Serena is also a keen ornithologist and has a passion for playing and writing music

Amy Stannard
Senior Veterinary Nurse
Dip HE CVN Dip AVN (Small Animal) RVNAmy joined the Eastfield team in 2015 as a student veterinary nurse and qualified in 2018. She has a keen interest in anaesthesia and surgical nursing, and is currently studying for an Advanced Nursing qualification. Amy is one of our clinical coaches and is passionate about helping student nurses on their journey to becoming registered nurses. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her pets. This includes doing agility with her staffy cross Lexi, attending conformation shows with her Lhasa Apso Jet and competing in grooming competitions with her Bedlington terrier Eddie. Amy is also a foster carer for a Jack Russell called Barney, he is a diabetic dog that needed help getting his condition stabilised. He is currently doing very well and has settled into life with Amy perfectly. Amy also has a cat Bailey who is pictured here with her.

Julie Brewer
Veterinary Nurse
RVN Dip AVN Animal BehaviouristJulie qualified as Registered Veterinary Nurse in 1990 and gained Advanced Veterinary Nursing qualification in 1995 and worked in Veterinary Referral Practice for 5 years. She joined the Eastfield family in 2000. Julie has a special interest in behaviour and gained her Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour and Training in 2014 and went on to complete her Msc in Clinical Animal Behaviour in 2020. Julie now runs dog training classes and consults on animal behaviour issues. She is happily labelled as an animal geek and shares her life with 3 dogs, 5 chickens and freely admits that she puts their care above her own.

Nadine Chapman
Veterinary Nurse
RVNNadine was the first RVN to qualify at Eastfield 30 years ago and she has seen a lot of changes since she first started! Nadine has worked at several other practices around the country both large (think James Herriot!) and small animal, gaining lots of experience along the way. Nadine also had the privilege to be a seal nurse for 3 years, rearing and releasing orphaned pups and nursing injured seals back to health prior to releasing. It was an amazing experience for Nadine and one she will never forget. Nadine returned to the Eastfield family in 2004 and is now settled with her son, William, who keeps her on her toes! In her spare time she loves walking, reading, gardening, a trip to the cinema for a good movie and good food with good company.

Liz Ward
Veterinary Nurse
RVNLiz came to Eastfield to do work experience in May 1990 and never left! Liz now works part time primarily at the Cleethorpes branch, after having her 3 children, Fred, Nancy and Hester. Her favourite part of the job is doing nursing clinics as it is a chance to chat to and get to know the clients and their pets. At home Liz has 2 dogs, a Deerhound Lurcher named Morag and a chihuahua cross called Claire and a delinquent cat, Duncan, who rules the roost.

Julia Butler
Veterinary Nurse
RVNJulia has been part of the Eastfield family since 2001 and says she loves being part of the team. Julia has 3 children and a chocolate Labrador, Roly Mo, pictured here with Julia and she also has 2 cheeky guinea pigs, which all keep her busy when she is not at work. When not at work Julia loves spending time with her family and escaping for adventures in their caravan. Julia also likes running which some say is ‘to burn off the crazy!’

Maddie Horder
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNI have been part of the Eastfield family since 2005. I qualified as an RVN in 2008. My main interests are medical and critical care nursing, hence I am mainly based in the ward and ensure everything runs smoothly.
When not working I enjoy spending time with my horse Jon and my dog Ted (pictured with me).

Laura King
Veterinary Nurse
RVNLaura graduated from Harper Adams University in 2011 where she met her husband and joined the Eastfield team in 2012. After 2 weeks working at Eastfield Laura adopted Alfie, her Jack Russell Terrier (pictured her with Laura) and later Nellie and Biscuit, her two cats. Laura and her husband have 3 children, Jacob, James and Grace and they also have 5 chickens and one guinea pig. Laura admits that her household is pretty hectic but she loves it! Her main areas of interest are theatre nursing and inpatient care. Laura has always had a love of animals since a very young age and always knew that veterinary nursing was the profession for her,.

Hayley Devaney
Veterinary Nurse
RVNHayley has been a qualified RVN for 11 years and is based at the Cleethorpes branch. Hayley enjoys interacting with clients and their pets and running nursing clinics. Hayley has a keen interest in exotic nursing. In her spare time she loves spending time with her children and going for long walks in the countryside.

Abbie Kirk
Veterinary Nurse
RVNAbbie joined the team in 2017 as a qualified nurse and has a special interest in exotics and hopes to progress with CPD in exotics this year. Abbie has so far rescued 9 guinea pigs! Abbie has also adopted 2 cats from Eastfield who are called Percy and Henry. In her spare tie Abbie likes to spend time with her partner and 2 children, George and Emilia, and looking after her animals.

Claire Barley
Veterinary Nurse
RVN Cert VN ECCClaire qualified as an RVN in 2016 and after a short break to travel to Africa to work with elephants and lions, joined Eastfield in 2017. Claire has recently completed her Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care. Claire has 2 rescue cats at home, Ava and Nellie, and enjoys days out which sets her heart racing as well as sitting at home with a good book.

Sophie Smith
Veterinary Nurse
RVNSophie joined the Eastfield family in 2017 as a student nurse whilst completing her studies at Nottingham Trent University. Sophie qualified in July 2020 and joined the team permanently then. Sophie is loving being a qualified nurse and enjoys a mixture of medical and surgical nursing and she also enjoys nursing clinics. Sophie is also a clinical coach, helping student nurses in their quest to be a veterinary nurse. Outside of work Sophie enjoys playing netball, running and riding her horse, Rosie.

Charlee Langmaid
Veterinary Nurse
RVNCharlee graduated as an RVN from Nottingham Trent University in July 2020 and joined the Eastfield family in March 2021. Charlee has dreamed of being a vet nurse ever since she was young. Her special interest is medical nursing especially with cats and wildlife. Outside of work Charlee loves to read, travel and spend time with her 2 rescue cats Buddy and Etta.

Siobhan Drew
Veterinary Nurse
RVNSiobhan joined the Eastfield family in 2016 as a qualified ANA. In 2018 she was lucky enough to begin her journey to becoming a fully registered veterinary nurse and completed her studies to become an RVN. Siobhan thoroughly enjoys all aspects of nursing but in particular nursing clinics, in-patient care and canine medicine and behaviour. Siobhan spends her spare time on long walks and also likes to keep fit, baking, meditation, shopping and all things fashion.

Stephie’lea Davidson
Veterinary Nurse
RVNStephi’lea qualified in 2018 at College of Animal Welfare. She has always had an interest in animals from a very young age and veterinary nursing is her dream come true.
Inside work Stephie’lea has a special interest in inpatient care, canine behaviour and exotic animals She enjoys spending time with her patients and giving them the TLC they deserve. Outside of work Stephie’lea still spends all her time caring for animals! She has 3 rescue boxers, Bentley, Chance and Harper as well as numerous other rescue pets including 2 snakes, 2 leopard gecko’s, a bosc monitor, a tortoise, a ferret, an amazon parrot and a horse! Small people liken her house to a petting zoo!
Stephi’lea enjoys spending time with family and friends and long walks with her 3 dogs.

Trudy Rogers
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNTrudy joined the Eastfield family in 2019 and has now completed her studies at College of Animal Welfare in Leeds and we are very proud that she has joined our team of wonderful qualified nurses and can now call herself a Registered Veterinary Nurse and wear her prized ‘greens’. Trudy has a 4 year old Whippet, named Floyd, and a 5 year old Greyhound, called Rue, and loves horses and all riding disciplines. Trudy likes all areas of first opinion practice and thoroughly enjoys her role and is happy that she decided to take the leap into a totally different career at 30 in order to achieve her dream.

Sophie Colbrook
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNSophie qualified as an ANA in 2020 then started her level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in September 2020 with College of Animal Welfare in Leeds. Sophie joined Eastfield in February 2021 to complete the work based part of her course. Sophie is finally pursuing her dream to become a veterinary nurse and to work with animals (whilst conquering her fear of birds!) Sophie has an 8 year old Pug named Phoebe and a crested gecko called Dino. In her spare time Sophie enjoys shopping, going out for brunch with her friends and doing puzzles.
We are so proud to announce that Sophie passed her exams at Christmas and is now a qualified RVN. Well done Sophie.

Harriet Chester
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNHarriet started at Eastfield in October 2020 and started training to be a veterinary nurse in January 2021 with College of Animal Welfare. Her favourite area is ward and she loves caring for the patients whilst they spend time with us. Harriet has a Labrador called Frankie (pictured with Harriet), a cat called Percy and 2 rabbits, Betty and Bertie. Harriet has always had a huge love of animals and it has always been her dream to become a veterinary nurse. In her spare time Harriet enjoys horse riding, spending time with her pets and long dog walks. Harriet qualified as an RVN in the summer this year.

Katie Wilson
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNKatie joined Eastfield in January 2020 as a student veterinary nurse to complete her studies with Middlesex University (and College of Animal Welfare) to attain her dream of become a qualified nurse. She has always had an affection for animals since a young age! One day Katie hopes to be able to own her very own Golden Retriever – as they are her favourite breed of dog! In her spare time Katie enjoys going for long walks, doing home workouts and horse riding. Kate has now passed her exams to be a qualified RVN

Jodie Punshon
Student Veterinary Nurse
SVNJodie joined the Eastfield family in 2017 as an evening cleaner but was soon given the opportunity to become an Animal Nursing Assistant and slowly started the progression to her ultimate goal of becoming an RVN. Jodie says she had not realised how much she loved working with animals until she started to work at Eastfield. Outside of work Jodie spends most of her time with her partner and 2 children (Ruby and Freddie), walking their chocolate Labrador Rolo (pictured here with Jodie) or looking after their green amazon parrot and 3 rescue cats.
We are proud to say that Jodie started her training to become an RVN in January 2023.

Lucy Openshaw
Student Veterinary Nurse
SVNLucy qualified as an ANA in December 2021 and joined the Eastfield Team in January 2022. In April 2022 she progressed to Student Veterinary Nurse, having enrolled and starting her apprenticeship at the College of Animal Welfare in Leeds. Lucy has always worked with animals in some capacity, from dog walking to farm volunteer and it has always been her goal to train to be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), and she has now started on that journey. Lucy loves cats and she has a cat called Kevin and has recently adopted kitten John (in the picture). Kevin is slowly getting used to having a boisterous kitten around! In her spare time Lucy supports her partner as a professional wrestler and travels around the UK watching him wrestle.

Donna Greaves
Kennel Assistant
Donna studied at Grimsby College in 2006, completing a National Diploma in Animal Management. During this time Donna completed work experience with Eastfield and joined the team in 2011 as Kennel Assistant. Donna has wanted to work with animals since she was a child. In her spare time Donna enjoys spending time with her fiancé and daughter Amie, socialising with friends and watching a good film.

Millie Wood
Apprentice Animal Care Assistant
Millie started in 2019 as an apprentice and is now a permanent member of our team. Mille started with us as a receptionist and administrator. Millie lives with her family, two dogs, Ted and TJ, and Dinky the Budgie. In her spare time Millie helps dog boarding at her home with her family and also has a passion for her tropical fish tank! Millie holds the British Veterinary Receptionist Association Bronze Level Accredited Veterinary Receptionist Award (Companion Animal) and Competent Veterinary Dispenser Award. She has also finished her BVRA Silver Level Award.
In January 2023 Millie moved from the reception to become an apprentice Animal Care Assistant

Amanda Welldrake
Insurance Administrator
Amanda joined the Eastfield family in 2004 as a receptionist and now is a senior member of the administration team and her main role involves processing all the insurance claims. Over the years Amanda has rescued and fostered several dogs, a cat and a guinea pig and she has always been a keen supporter of the local Rescue Centre “The Ark”, where many of her rescue dogs have come from. Currently Amanda has 2 rescue dogs, Winnie, (pictured with Amanda) the blind one who still lives life to the full regardless of having no eyes, and Bear, the crazy one who fits so well within our family home.

Tina Lomax
Credit Controller
Tina joined the Eastfield team in December 2019, just before lockdown, as credit control administrator and says that she loves her job! Tina has huge shoulders, a warm heart and listening ears and is married with 2 grown up children and Holly, her gorgeous Labrador (pictured her with Tina). Tina’s hobbies are baking and walking in the woods>

Mandy Ramsey
Receptionist/admin
Mandy joined the Eastfield family in 2016, originally to cover for maternity leave but stayed with us when that ended. Mandy is responsible for the charity accounts and export paperwork as well as reception and administration. Mandy is married with 2 grown up sons and one grandson. Pictured with her is Izzy, her Cairn Terrier. In her spare time Mandy likes to take Izzy to agility classes and she also enjoys reading.

Kay Beeson
Receptionist/admin
Kay joined the team in 2012 and works on reception as well as administration. She is married with 2 grown up daughters and 2 dogs, Charlie (pictured here) and Gizmo, and 2 cats, Cider and Scrumpy. Her hobbies are walking with her dogs, gardening and eating out. Her new passion (although a novice at the moment) is paddle boarding which she can enjoyed on the river close to her home. Her happy place is Fuerteventura with her family.

Helen Kersey
Receptionist
Helen started with the Eastfield family in November 2016 as a receptionist and loves her job. She has a great relationship with the clients and loves nothing more than helping out whenever and wherever she can. Helen has rescued and helped lots of wildlife brought in by members of the public including Wilson, the Jackdaw, Peggy the chicken (pictured with Helen) and many more. Helen holds the British Veterinary Receptionist Association Bronze Level Accredited Veterinary Receptionist Award (Companion Animal) and Competent Veterinary Dispenser Award.

Karen Melin
Receptionist
Karen recently joined the Eastfield team in November 2020 as a receptionist, after working for many years in the veterinary profession. Karen is also a qualified swimming teacher, teaching mainly children, but adults too. Married with a son and daughter and a farmyard of animals! Pictured here with Ellie, her lovely lab. Enjoys spending time with family and friends, and of course Ellie. A passion for gardening and loves visiting The Lake District and hiking the fells.

Leane Menard-Parkinson
Receptionist
‘I fell in love with the animal world after becoming a first-time dog Maman to a anxious cockapoo and a crazy standard poodle. Realising a serious interest in working with dogs, I’m hoping to qualify as a dog trainer outside of work with a special interest in reactive dogs as well as trick training. (As for dislikes, I hate how clumsy I am and how much I hurt myself, please spot the plaster if you see me)

Nicky Jeffrey
Receptionist
Nicky joined the Eastfield family just before Christmas and is married with two teenage girls. Outside of work Nicky has three dogs, Charlie, Bella and Lottie who all enjoy lots of walks and cuddles.
Nicky’s favourite pastime is to relax at home with her family, dogs and lots of chocolate:)
Prior to joining Eastfield Nicky was a Beauty Therapist with her own business. She decided to become a full time mum for a few years and loved every minute, but has decided the time is right to get back into the workforce and we are very pleased she has joined our team.

I have recently joined the reception team and I love being part of the team. I live at home with my fiancé, my house rabbit George and our new puppy Willow (pictured with me). I love travelling, my favourite place is the Philippines. I enjoy spending time with my friends and going for family dog walks at the weekend.
